Pet Parade!

Hello Dear Friends,
What a great day it is! Cody and I are just jumping for joy that we were able to help Kelee Katillac make her goal and help other poor abandoned Cats and Dogs. It just proves that HEROES come in all shapes and sizes!
Please go HERE and watch this moving video that highlights the cause and all the HEROES who helped Kelee make this all come true.

And thank you Kelee for being my HERO!
Love,

Hello Dear Friends,

"Friendship is the golden thread that ties all hearts together." ~ Unknown
A few weeks ago I got home from work and found this package on my doorstep...

I recognized the name immediately...it was from my Dear Friend Amy over at Home Acre...

Amy and I "met" through blogging and became fast friends...she is like another sister to me. We have found many, many similarities between the two of us...she has said before that she knows she would be comfortable in my home and I would be in hers too...we just like so many things the same.

We have also gone through some life experiences with aging parents together too...Amy is just a warm, loving person...she has enriched my life more than she could ever know...

So, I cannot even begin to say how emotional I became when I opened the box from my Dear Friend Amy and saw all these beautiful things that she thought I would like...it was just like Christmas! I was so taken back by her kindness. And her creativity...I know she made that beautiful doily by hand, and two dishcloths that are just my colors...and the sweet little scissor caddy that holds a beautiful pair of bird shaped scissors...there was a beautiful Lenox dish...some very delicious tea...a book of Love Poems & Letters...a wonderful magazine that I had never seen before, but will certainly be on the lookout for from now on...A gorgeous crocheted tote in one of my favorite colors...it is perfect. There was also a Vera Bradley change purse. But...

When I saw this sweet little pincushion she made, my heart melted. See the cute little Scotty Dog button on it...She added that because she knows that's what I call my hubby Scott. How special...
Amy...our hearts will forever be tied together by golden thread...I love you.

Here's the Story...of a busy lady!

Hello Dear Friends,

Please let me first say how much I have missed you all...and your inquiries into my well-being have all meant so much to me...I cannot begin to say.

So...here's the story.
Life.

Life has a funny way of taking over. Doesn't it? And I have been determined to live every moment of it to it's fullest.

My computer cord caught fire awhile back...not a big one, but enough to render it useless until I got a new one. Then I wasn't even sure the computer would work at all...

But, a funny thing happened. I didn't have the computer to turn to in moments of boredom, so I started to do other things...I went for walks more, rode my bike (until I had a little accident and couldn't)...I urged Scotty Dog to help me take care of a couple of little projects around the house. I spent more time with the Grands...we just plain enjoyed life.

So...the new cord went on the back burner. Until a couple of weeks ago. And then, I was sure you all had forgotten about me by now...but, when my dear sweet Mother-in-Law called my husband to see if I was OK, because she got a call from my Brother-in-Law across the country, wanting to know if I was alright because I hadn't "blogged" for awhile...well, my hands started to twitch for the old keyboard...

I have lot's of pictures to share...lot's of progress to show you on Our Little Home...and LOTS of catching up to do on all of you...

So, if you'll have me...I would like to come home.

I miss knowing how someone I have never met bathroom's remodel came out...or how that new grand baby is growing so big, or how someones vacation went, dinner with the hubby, an anniversary to share, prayer requests and being part of that circle of love and prayer that is so readily given in a time of need.

I missed you. And you. And you too...

Love,

A Little Get Away!

Hello Dear Friends,
My Husband Scotty Dog and I took a couple of the sweet Grand Girls to the mountains for a couple of days...we had such a nice time.
We took a canoe trip down the Saco River...breathtaking.

We stopped on a sandy stretch and had a picnic and swam...the girls are like fish!

The girls fished awhile...we didn't catch anything...but it was fun!

That night we went into town and had a nice dinner and walked around checking out some of the shops...the girls were in awe of all the candy at the old fashioned country store. Of course what I could have gotten for 25 cents when I was a kid cost about $5.oo, but it was worth it to see the smiles on their faces.

The next day we went hiking. We took them to one of our favorite spots called Cathedral Ledge. The views are amazing...

Next we headed up the Kancamagus Highway...this follows the Swift River. It is a very rocky river. The girls had fun jumping from rock to rock. Our oldest Grand Amy lost her glasses in the river, but Grampa to the rescue...he fished them out!

We took our time driving the highway, had a nice lunch at the other side and then drove leisurely home...
Scotty Dog and I enjoyed this time with the Grands so much...
How is your summer going?

Gratitude...

Hello Dear Friends,

Tonight, as I sit in my comfy cozy chair after a long day at work, and look around me, I am overwhelmed with an incredible feeling of gratitude...

"Thank God--every morning when you get up--that you have something to do which must be done, whether you like it or not. Being forced to work, and forced to do your best, will breed in you a hundred virtues which the idle never know."~ Charles Kingsley ~

"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom."~ Marcel Proust ~

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."~ Melody Beattie ~

"To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven."~ Johannes A. Gaertner ~

Life is good...

Blessings,
